national geographic documentary full episodes Among the more out of control expectations for 2012 is that Quetzalcoatl will give back that year. Probably this is composed in the Mayan predictions.
There are a few issues with this.
As a matter of first importance, Quetzalcoatl, the plumed serpent, was not a Mayan god. He was Aztec, and presumably construct at last in light of a genuine Aztec ruler whose life points of interest are lost in the fogs of times long past.
Presently, the Mayas had a feathered god, Kukulkan, who we may take to be generally equal. All in all, did they (or the Aztecs) truly have a forecast about Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl returning toward the end of the ages?
This is the place we keep running into an another enormous issue. The heft of the Mayas' compositions, or codices, were decimated by the Spanish, who thought of them as works of the Devil and an obstruction to forcing Christianity on the local Mexicans.
The compositions that survive are, best case scenario murky as to foreseeing the future descending of any god, not to mention Kukulkan (Quetzalcoatl) particularly. Nor are they clear with respect to what a returning god will return to do.
Some gatherings - eminently the Mormons - distinguish the Aztec or Mayan god with Jesus, who, obviously, is relied upon by numerous Christians to plunge to earth in a moment coming to bring devotees to paradise with him, or to judge humankind, or both.
Others set Quetzalcoatl to be a sort of New Age symbol who will show up by the enchantment date of December 21, 2012 to lead us into a brilliant period of peace, concordance and plenitude for all.
However others say he is only one more persona of Satan, maybe even the Antichrist who will administer the world for a period until the considerable skirmish of Armageddon.
As should be obvious, the myths and predictions encompassing the arrival of Quetzalcoatl are pitifully tangled.
I think something significant is without a doubt going to happen in 2012, however I'm not investing my energy attempting to unravel uncertain old stories about feathered divine beings. I would rather break down current occasions and their significance in the bigger picture, and make arrangements to survive the coming tempests, whatever they might be.
